For first-grade campers, the program includes exciting experiences like the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and participation in the cherished Oak Crest tradition of GAGA. As campers progress into the second grade, they have the opportunity to customize their camp experience through a CHOICE period in their schedule, allowing them to select activities on a weekly basis. This approach fosters a dynamic and engaging camp environment.

Explorer Athletics

In North Brunswick, New Jersey, our Summer Camp offers a tailored sports program for 1st and 2nd graders. We employ modified versions of traditional sports, utilizing smaller fields and courts along with age-appropriate equipment. This approach is designed to empower campers to attain success while building fundamental game skills.

Our Athletic Specialists, who are well-trained in their respective areas, allocate a portion of each session to teach new skills, followed by gameplay that emphasizes these newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively engage in these activities alongside the campers, working closely with the specialists to create and reinforce opportunities for success among our young participants.

Our aquatic facility is exceptional, featuring a state-of-the-art 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex designed specifically for children aged 3-8. In the afternoon, campers have the opportunity for free swim sessions. Our swim lessons are structured based on skill levels rather than age, ensuring that we can challenge swimmers of all proficiencies. Ropes Course and Low Ropes Course

In North Brunswick, New Jersey, Oak Crest has erected a low ropes course with a dual purpose: to enhance the gross motor skills of our 1st Grade Explorers and equip them with the necessary abilities to navigate our Climbing Tower. The 1st Grade Explorers participate in activities on the Low Ropes Course, which involve climbing, exploration, and swinging, all carried out just inches above the ground. Upon progressing to 2nd Grade, Oak Crest campers have their first experiences with the Climbing Tower and Zipline. The Ropes Course is thoughtfully designed to allow campers to advance at their own pace. As they become more comfortable and confident, they gain access to higher and more advanced elements.

Before each season, our ropes courses undergo comprehensive safety inspections and certification by the construction company. Additionally, certified ropes instructors, who also guide the groups through all ropes courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
