3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins) Summer Camp near 07690

In the 07690, New Jersey area, Oak Crest offers two programs: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Our Munchkin Division maintains an excellent camper-to-staff ratio, typically ranging from 10 to 12 campers with 3 to 4 staff members. Additionally, each activity is supervised by a specialized Munchkin Specialist, extensively trained to cater to the unique needs of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds.

The Munchkin Program focuses on three key aspects: enhancing gross and fine motor skills through engaging athletic and creative activities, teaching swimming skills, and promoting social development.

Munchkin Athletics

At Oak Crest, we provide modified versions of various sports activities tailored to our youngest campers. Our offerings include mini-soccer, mini-basketball, t-ball, and gymnastics, all adapted to ensure that children aged 3, 4, and 5 can experience success in these sports. Our athletic specialists are specifically trained to work with this age group, ensuring that your child learns the fundamental skills of these sports in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.

Creative Arts

Located in 07690, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Creative Arts Center serves as a prominent hub for fostering artistic expression. Here, your child can engage in a wide array of artistic activities, conducted in well-appointed, air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our campers actively participate in diverse activities such as ceramics, music, cooking, drama, nature exploration, dance, digital photography, jewelry making, and computer-related activities on a weekly basis.

To enhance the overall experience, each Munchkin group contributes to the annual Showcrest, a grand Dance and Drama Production held during the 6th week of camp. Showcrest takes place in the evening at a local venue, complete with professional-grade sound and lighting, creating a truly remarkable spectacle and far from a modest affair.

Low Ropes

Climbing and Ropes Courses play vital roles in the Summer Camp experience. Located in 07690, New Jersey, Oak Crest has established a low ropes course with dual objectives: developing gross motor skills in our young campers and equipping them with the necessary skills for the Climbing Tower. During their time on the Low Ropes Course, our campers engage in activities involving climbing, exploration, and swinging, all while being just inches above the ground.

We prioritize safety by subjecting our ropes courses to rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction at the beginning of each season. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who oversee the ropes courses, conduct daily checks to ensure a secure environment for our campers.

Learn to Swim

Swimming transcends being a life skill; it stands as an essential proficiency, best cultivated in our newly established, cutting-edge 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex located in 07690, New Jersey. Our unwavering commitment to excellence is exemplified by our annual instructor training, which draws upon both American Red Cross guidelines and our extensive practical experience of over 25 years in teaching children to swim. We wholeheartedly guarantee that your child will master the art of swimming at Oak Crest.

For our beginner swimmers, our state-of-the-art Aquatic Facility boasts two shallow pools, ensuring that even the youngest campers can comfortably touch the bottom. This fosters a higher level of comfort and initial progress. Each morning, our campers partake in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by a certified swim instructor and assisted by group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, cultivating camaraderie with both fellow campers and group counselors.

Social Development

One of the most captivating facets of the camp experience centers around nurturing children’s proficiency in navigating group dynamics. This process not only fosters heightened confidence and independence but also enables them to develop crucial life skills. As campers transition between diverse activities, the group actively participates in building friendships, engaging in collaborative efforts, practicing sharing and taking turns, and learning to interact respectfully with both peers and staff. Our dedicated team empowers Munchkin campers to express themselves through verbal communication and provides guidance on effective direct communication. Oak Crest creates a nurturing environment where children acquire the emotional and social skills that are fundamental for success in life.

Munchkin Lunch

To meet the nutritional needs of our preschool campers, the Munchkins have a designated dining arrangement separate from the rest of the camp, with the privilege of enjoying the first lunch period of the day. Our Oak Crest Staff is highly attentive to any dietary requirements your child may have, offering a personalized and accommodating approach to their meals.
