3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins) Summer Camp near 08543

In the 08543 ZIP code of New Jersey, Oak Crest offers two distinct programs: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Our Munchkin Division proudly maintains an exceptional camper-to-staff ratio, typically ranging from 10 to 12 campers, each supported by 3 to 4 staff members. Furthermore, every activity is diligently supervised by a specialized Munchkin Specialist, meticulously selected and trained to meet the unique needs of children aged 3, 4, and 5.

The Munchkin Program adopts a comprehensive approach, focusing on three core objectives: enhancing both gross and fine motor skills through engaging athletic and creative activities, fostering swimming proficiency, and promoting social development among our young participants.

Munchkin Athletics

At Oak Crest, we provide modified versions of several sports activities tailored to suit our youngest campers. Whether it’s mini-soccer, mini-basketball, t-ball, or gymnastics, we have reimagined traditional sports to enable our 3, 4, and 5-year-old campers to experience success. Our dedicated athletic specialists are specifically trained to work with children in this age group, ensuring that your child not only learns the fundamental skills of these sports but also does so in a manner that is both age-appropriate and engaging.

Creative Arts

Located in the 08543 area of New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Creative Arts Center stands as a distinguished hub for fostering artistic expression. Here, your child will have the opportunity to engage in a wide spectrum of artistic activities, all conducted within well-appointed, air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of seasoned art instructors. Our campers actively participate in a diverse array of activities on a weekly basis, including Ceramics, Music, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.

What adds to the richness of this experience is the involvement of each Munchkin group in our annual Showcrest event—a grand Dance and Drama Production. Far from being a modest affair, Showcrest, a cherished tradition during the 6th week of camp, unfolds in the evening at a local venue. It features professional-grade sound and lighting to create a truly remarkable spectacle that showcases the creative talents of our campers.

Low Ropes

The Oak Crest Summer Camp in 08543, NJ, offers a comprehensive adventure experience that includes Climbing and Ropes Courses as integral components. In our NJ location, we have established a low ropes course with dual objectives: enhancing the development of gross motor skills in our Munchkin campers and equipping them with the fundamental skills necessary for navigating our Climbing Tower. During their participation in the Low Ropes Course, our young campers engage in activities involving climbing, exploration, and swinging, all while being just inches above the ground.

Safety is our top priority, and we take extensive measures to ensure it. Our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction at the start of each season. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who oversee the groups during all ropes courses, conduct daily checks to maintain a secure environment for our campers.

Learn to Swim

Swimming transcends being a mere life skill; it represents an essential proficiency that is optimally cultivated at our newly established, cutting-edge 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex in the 08543, NJ location. Our unwavering commitment to excellence is exemplified through our annual instructor training program, which draws upon American Red Cross guidelines and our extensive practical experience spanning over 25 years in teaching children how to swim. We wholeheartedly assure you that your child will attain mastery in the art of swimming at Oak Crest.

In our state-of-the-art Aquatic Facility, designed especially for beginners, we offer two shallow pools to ensure that even the youngest campers can confidently stand, greatly enhancing their comfort and initial progress. Every morning, our campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson conducted by a certified swim instructor, with assistance from group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, fostering camaraderie with both fellow campers and group counselors.

Social Development

One of the most captivating aspects of the camp experience centers around the development of children’s proficiency in navigating group dynamics. This transformative process fosters increased self-confidence and independence in our young campers. As they transition between different activities, the group actively participates in nurturing friendships, collaborative endeavors, sharing, taking turns, and acquiring the ability to interact respectfully with both their peers and the camp staff. Our dedicated staff plays a pivotal role in empowering Munchkin campers to express their thoughts through verbal communication and guides them in practicing direct communication. Oak Crest provides a nurturing environment where children acquire the emotional and social skills that are fundamental for achieving success in life.

Munchkin Lunch

In order to meet the specific nutritional needs of our preschool campers, the Munchkin group has a separate dining arrangement, partaking in the initial lunch period of the day. Our Oak Crest Staff is vigilant in addressing any dietary requirements your child may have, ensuring a personalized and accommodating approach to their meals.
