In the 08835 zip code of New Jersey, Oak Crest offers two programs: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Within our Munchkin Division, we maintain an exceptional camper-to-staff ratio, typically ranging from 10 to 12 campers accompanied by 3 to 4 staff members. Additionally, each activity is supervised by a dedicated Munchkin Specialist, who undergoes specialized recruitment and training to meet the needs of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds.
The Munchkin Program places significant emphasis on a threefold approach:

Munchkin Athletics
At Oak Crest, we provide modified versions of various sports activities tailored to our youngest campers. These scaled-down adaptations include mini-soccer, mini-basketball, t-ball, and gymnastics. Our approach ensures that even our 3, 4, and 5-year-old campers can experience success in these sports.
Our athletic specialists are specifically trained to work with this age group, guiding your child through the fundamental skills of these sports in an age-appropriate and engaging manner, making the learning process enjoyable and beneficial.
Creative Arts
Located in the 08835 area of New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Creative Arts Center serves as a distinguished hub for artistic expression. Here, your child can engage in a wide array of artistic activities within well-appointed, air-conditioned classrooms, all under the guidance of experienced art instructors.
Our campers actively participate in diverse activities on a weekly basis, including Ceramics, Music, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Enhancing the richness of the experience, each Munchkin group contributes to the annual Showcrest, a grand Dance and Drama Production held during the 6th week of camp. This event takes place in the evening at a local venue, featuring professional-grade sound and lighting, creating a truly remarkable spectacle.
Low Ropes
Climbing and Ropes Courses are integral components of the Summer Camp experience at Oak Crest’s 08835, NJ location. We have established a low ropes course with dual objectives: promoting the development of gross motor skills in our Munchkins and equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate our Climbing Tower. During their time on the Low Ropes Course, our young campers engage in activities such as climbing, exploring, and swinging, all while staying just inches above the ground.
To ensure the utmost safety, our ropes courses undergo comprehensive inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction at the beginning of each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all ropes courses, conduct daily checks to maintain a secure environment for the campers.
Learn to Swim
Swimming transcends being a mere life skill; it’s a vital proficiency that finds its optimal acquisition at our newly established, state-of-the-art 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex in the 08835, NJ location. Our commitment to excellence is underscored by our annual training of instructors, drawing from both American Red Cross guidelines and an extensive practical experience spanning over 25 years in teaching children to swim. We provide an unequivocal guarantee that your child will master the art of swimming at Oak Crest.
In our Aquatic Facility, designed with the utmost consideration for beginners, we offer two shallow pools to ensure even the youngest campers can comfortably stand. This setup significantly enhances their comfort level and initial progress. Every morning, our campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by a certified swim instructor, with assistance from group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, fostering camaraderie with fellow campers and group counselors.
Social Development
One of the most captivating facets of the camp experience centers on nurturing children’s adeptness in navigating group dynamics. In this process, they cultivate heightened confidence and independence. While transitioning between various activities, the group actively participates in the cultivation of friendships, collaborative efforts, sharing, taking turns, and learning to interact respectfully with both peers and staff members. Our dedicated staff members empower Munchkin campers to express their thoughts using language and assist them in practicing direct communication. At Oak Crest, we offer a nurturing environment where children acquire the emotional and social skills crucial for success in life.
Munchkin Lunch
To cater to the specific nutritional needs of our preschool campers, Munchkins have a dedicated dining arrangement separate from the rest of the camp. They enjoy the first lunch period of the day, allowing our Oak Crest staff to provide attentive care to any dietary requirements your child may have. This personalized and accommodating approach ensures their well-being during meal times.
