3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins) Summer Camp near 08854

In 08854, New Jersey, Oak Crest offers both a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. In our Munchkin Division, we maintain an exceptional camper-to-staff ratio, typically ranging from 10 to 12 campers with 3 to 4 staff members per group. Additionally, each activity is overseen by a Munchkin Specialist who is specifically recruited and trained to meet the unique needs of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds.

The Munchkin Program is designed around a threefold approach. This approach focuses on:

1. Enhancing gross and fine motor skills through engaging athletic and creative activities.2. Developing swimming skills.3. Promoting social development among our young campers.

Munchkin Athletics

At Oak Crest, we provide tailored versions of diverse sports activities, such as mini-soccer, mini-basketball, t-ball, and gymnastics, all designed to accommodate our youngest campers and foster their success. Our athletic specialists are highly trained to work with children aged 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that your child not only enjoys but also learns the fundamental skills of these sports in a manner appropriate for their age, making their experience engaging and enjoyable.

Creative Arts

Nestled in 08854, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Creative Arts Center serves as an exceptional hub for fostering artistic expression. Here, your child will have the unique opportunity to engage in a diverse array of artistic activities, all within well-appointed, air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art instructors.

Our campers actively participate in a wide range of activities on a weekly basis, including ceramics, music, cooking, drama, nature exploration, dance, digital photography, jewelry making, and computer-based endeavors, among others.

Enhancing the depth of this experience, each Munchkin group contributes to the annual Showcrest, a grand Dance and Drama Production. Far from a modest undertaking, Showcrest is a longstanding tradition that unfolds during the 6th week of camp, held in the evening at a local venue. It features professional-grade sound and lighting, resulting in a truly remarkable spectacle that adds a rich layer to the overall camp experience.

Low Ropes

Climbing and Ropes Courses are integral elements of the Summer Camp experience at Oak Crest’s location in 08854, NJ. We have designed a low ropes course with dual objectives: first, to promote the development of gross motor skills among our Munchkin campers, and second, to equip them with the essential skills needed for navigating our Climbing Tower.

During their participation in the Low Ropes Course, our young campers engage in activities that involve climbing, exploration, and swinging, all while remaining just inches above the ground.

Safety is paramount in these activities. At the outset of each season, our ropes courses undergo comprehensive inspection and certification by the construction company responsible for their creation. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through these courses, conduct daily checks to ensure a secure environment for all campers.

Learn to Swim

Swimming is not just a basic life skill; it represents a crucial proficiency that is best acquired at our newly established and cutting-edge 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex, located in 08854, NJ. Our unwavering commitment to excellence is underscored by our annual instructor training program, which incorporates both American Red Cross guidelines and our extensive practical experience spanning over 25 years in teaching children to swim. We firmly guarantee that your child will achieve mastery in swimming at Oak Crest.

For our beginner swimmers, our state-of-the-art Aquatic Facility boasts two shallow pools, ensuring that even the youngest campers can comfortably stand. This setup significantly enhances their comfort and initial progress. Each morning, our campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by a certified swim instructor, with assistance from group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, fostering camaraderie among fellow campers and group counselors alike.

Social Development

A significant and captivating dimension of the camp experience centers around nurturing children’s proficiency in managing group dynamics. This cultivation process is instrumental in fostering heightened confidence and independence among campers. As they transition between various activities, the group actively participates in the development of friendships, collaborative efforts, sharing, taking turns, and the acquisition of respectful interaction skills with both peers and staff.

Our dedicated staff plays a pivotal role in empowering Munchkin campers to express their thoughts using words and facilitating direct communication. Oak Crest is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where children acquire emotional and social skills that are vital for success in life.

Munchkin Lunch

In catering to the nutritional needs of our preschool campers, the Munchkins have a distinct dining arrangement separate from the rest of the camp, allowing them to enjoy the first lunch period of the day. Our Oak Crest Staff is highly attentive to any specific dietary requirements your child may have, assuring a personalized and accommodating approach to their meals.
