In 08880, New Jersey, Oak Crest offers both a 5-day and a 3-day program. Our Munchkin Division boasts an exceptionally low camper-to-staff ratio, typically featuring 10 to 12 campers accompanied by 3 to 4 staff members. Additionally, each activity is overseen by a Munchkin Specialist, specially selected and trained to meet the specific needs of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds.
The Munchkin Program focuses on three main objectives: enhancing gross and fine motor skills through engaging athletic and creative activities, teaching swimming skills, and fostering social development.
Munchkin Athletics
Oak Crest provides modified versions of various sports activities tailored to our youngest campers. These scaled-down adaptations include mini-soccer, mini-basketball, t-ball, and gymnastics, allowing children as young as 3 to 5 years old to experience success in these sports. Our athletic specialists are specifically trained to work with this age group, ensuring that your child learns the fundamental skills of these sports in a manner that is both age-appropriate and engaging.
Creative Arts
Located in 08880, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Creative Arts Center serves as a prominent hub for artistic expression. Our camp offers a wide range of artistic activities held in well-appointed, air-conditioned classrooms, all guided by experienced art instructors. Weekly, campers actively engage in diverse activities including Ceramics, Music, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Enhancing the experience, each Munchkin group contributes to the annual Showcrest, a grand Dance and Drama Production. This event, a cherished tradition during the 6th week of camp, unfolds in the evening at a local venue, complete with professional-grade sound and lighting to create a truly remarkable spectacle.
Low Ropes
Climbing and Ropes Courses are integral components of the Summer Camp experience at Oak Crest in 08880, NJ. Our camp features a low ropes course with dual objectives: fostering the development of gross motor skills in our Munchkin campers and equipping them with the necessary skills for navigating our Climbing Tower. During the Low Ropes Course activities, our young campers engage in climbing, exploration, and swinging, all while being just inches above the ground.
Safety is our utmost priority, and our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction at the start of each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through these courses, conduct daily checks to maintain a secure environment for our campers.
Learn to Swim
Swimming is not just a life skill; it’s a crucial proficiency that is best acquired at our newly established, cutting-edge 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex in the 08880, NJ location. Our unwavering commitment to excellence is evident through our annual instructor training program, which draws from American Red Cross guidelines and over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children to swim. We confidently assure you that your child will become a proficient swimmer at Oak Crest.
In our state-of-the-art Aquatic Facility, designed especially for beginners, we have two shallow pools to ensure that even the youngest campers can comfortably stand. This enhances their comfort level and initial progress significantly. Each morning, our campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by a certified swim instructor, with the assistance of group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, fostering camaraderie with both fellow campers and group counselors.
Social Development
A captivating facet of the camp experience revolves around nurturing children’s proficiency in navigating group dynamics. This journey fosters the development of heightened confidence and independence. As campers transition between diverse activities, they actively participate in cultivating friendships, engaging in collaborative efforts, sharing, taking turns, and learning to interact respectfully with both their peers and the staff.

Munchkin Lunch
To meet the nutritional needs of our preschool campers, Munchkins have a distinct dining arrangement separate from the rest of the camp, where they enjoy the first lunch period of the day. The Oak Crest Staff is highly attentive to any dietary requirements your child may have, guaranteeing a personalized and accommodating approach to their meals.
