In Martinsville, New Jersey, Oak Crest offers two program options: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Our Munchkin Division maintains an exceptional camper-to-staff ratio, typically ranging from 10 to 12 campers accompanied by 3 to 4 staff members. Additionally, each activity is supervised by a specialized Munchkin Specialist, specifically recruited and trained to address the needs of children aged 3, 4, and 5.
The Munchkin Program is designed with a threefold approach in mind: fostering the development of both gross and fine motor skills through engaging athletic and creative activities, teaching essential swimming skills, and promoting social development among our young campers.

From mini-soccer and mini-basketball to t-ball and gymnastics, we have tailored these traditional sports to ensure that our young participants can experience success. Our team of athletic specialists is specially trained to work with children aged 3, 4, and 5, guiding them in learning the fundamental skills of these sports in an age-appropriate and engaging manner, making it a delightful experience for your child.

Climbing and Ropes Courses play integral roles in the Summer Camp experience at Oak Crest’s Martinsville, NJ location. We have established a low ropes course with two primary objectives: fostering the development of gross motor skills in our Munchkins and equipping them with the essential skills needed to navigate our Climbing Tower. When engaging in the Low Ropes Course, our young campers spend their time climbing, exploring, and swinging, all while remaining just inches above the ground.
Safety is of paramount importance to us. Our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction at the beginning of each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all ropes courses, conduct daily checks to ensure a secure environment for the campers.
Swimming is not just a life skill; it’s a crucial proficiency that is best acquired at our newly established, state-of-the-art 12,000 square foot Aquatic Complex in Martinsville, NJ. Our dedication to excellence is evident through our annual training of instructors, which combines American Red Cross guidelines with over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children to swim. We wholeheartedly guarantee that your child will become proficient in swimming at Oak Crest.
For our beginners, our Aquatic Facility boasts two shallow pools, ensuring even the youngest campers can comfortably stand. This enhances their comfort and initial progress significantly. Every morning, our campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by a certified swim instructor, with the assistance of group counselors. In the afternoons, they return to the Aquatic Complex for 40 minutes of free swim, promoting camaraderie among fellow campers and group counselors alike.
One of the most captivating elements of the camp experience is the development of children’s proficiency in navigating group dynamics. This process fosters heightened confidence and independence as campers move through different activities. Within their groups, they actively engage in building friendships, collaborating, sharing, taking turns, and learning to interact respectfully with both their peers and the staff. Our dedicated team empowers Munchkin campers to express their thoughts using words and assists them in developing direct communication skills. Oak Crest offers a nurturing environment where children acquire the emotional and social skills that are vital for success in life.
To cater to the specific nutritional needs of our preschool campers, the Munchkin group has a dedicated dining arrangement, enjoying the first lunch period of the day. The Oak Crest Staff is highly attentive to any dietary requirements your child may have, ensuring a personalized and accommodating approach to their meals.
