Oak Crest offers two program options for children aged 3 to 5 in our Munchkin Division: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to provide personalized attention, with groups consisting of 10 to 12 campers and 3 to 4 staff members. Our primary focus is on safety and providing nurturing care.
Swimming is a core component of the Munchkin Program, and we place a strong emphasis on helping your child become comfortable and proficient in the water. Our specially trained Munchkin Specialists are dedicated to enhancing your child’s gross and fine motor skills through a variety of athletic and creative activities. This approach ensures that your child receives an age-appropriate and enriching experience while learning to swim.
The Explorers program, much like the Munchkins, offers a wide range of activities that promote physical and creative development while also focusing on improving swimming skills and nurturing social and emotional intelligence. For our first-grade campers, we introduce exciting elements such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA, adding an element of adventure and challenge to their experience.
As campers enter the second grade, we give them even more autonomy with CHOICE periods. This means that they get to select their preferred activities on a weekly basis, allowing for a personalized and tailored camp experience that caters to their individual interests and preferences.
In the Junior program at Oak Crest, children have the opportunity to participate in a diverse array of activities. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild.
The program is designed to be both physically active and creatively stimulating. It incorporates activities like Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower to enhance their skills and confidence.
Additionally, Juniors get to enjoy Late Nights, which extend their camp experience. This includes special dinners, extra swim time, engaging games, unique events, and a memorable twilight campfire where they can indulge in delicious S’mores.
Senior campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive camp experience that includes all the camp’s activities. In addition to these activities, they get to embark on thrilling day trips, such as visits to Dorney Park, adding an extra layer of excitement to their summer.
For Senior campers, the program extends to include a wide range of advanced Choice offerings, allowing them to tailor their camp experience to their specific interests and preferences.
Senior Late Nights are another highlight of their experience, offering extended camp hours, special dinners, extra swim time, engaging games, unique events, and an unforgettable twilight campfire complete with delicious S’mores. This provides them with special moments and additional bonding opportunities with their fellow campers.
At Oak Crest, we offer an engaging Choice program where campers can select their preferred activities for a specific period each week. This means that each week, campers have the opportunity to choose a new activity from a rotating list of options.
In addition to the wide range of athletic and creative activities available, Senior campers can also opt to play a role in our annual Drama Production or take part in our special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. It’s worth noting that the performances by our Senior campers in both the Drama and Dance productions are consistently the highlights of the show, showcasing their talents and dedication.
At Oak Crest, our camp counselors play a vital role in guiding campers through various team-building challenges and friendly competitions. These activities are designed to nurture essential skills such as teamwork, effective communication, and mutual support among campers.
Our structured environment not only fosters respect among campers but also encourages the formation of lifelong friendships. We take a firm stance against bullying and have a zero-tolerance policy in place to ensure a safe and caring environment for all children and young teens attending our camp.
Our primary goal is to help campers develop crucial emotional and social skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
The LIT (Leadership in Training) Experience is a program designed for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, providing them with valuable hands-on leadership skill development within our dynamic camp setting. Through this program, participants engage in activities aimed at enhancing the overall camp experience for younger campers.
LITs focus on key aspects such as problem-solving, being positive role models, and cultivating effective teamwork skills. The program places a strong emphasis on responsibility, with the goal of preparing LITs for future success in college and their careers. It also opens up opportunities for them to become exceptional camp staff in the future, making it a valuable and enriching experience for these young leaders.
