Oak Crest offers two program options for children aged 3 to 5 in the Munchkin Division: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. These programs maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio, typically accommodating groups of 10 to 12 campers with 3 to 4 staff members. This emphasis on a low ratio ensures personalized attention, with a primary focus on safety and nurturing care.
A key highlight of the Munchkin Program is its strong emphasis on swimming. The program is dedicated to helping children become comfortable and proficient in the water. In addition to swimming, the program also aims to enhance both gross and fine motor skills through a variety of athletic and creative activities. These activities are led by specially trained Munchkin Specialists who are skilled at providing age-appropriate and enriching experiences for the children.
In the Explorers program, similar to the Munchkin Division, children participate in a range of athletic and creative activities. They also focus on improving their swimming abilities and developing their social and emotional intelligence.
First graders in the program are introduced to various adventurous activities such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. Additionally, in the second grade, campers have the opportunity to choose their preferred activities on a weekly basis during CHOICE periods, allowing for personalized and diverse experiences.
At Oak Crest near Piscataway, Juniors participate in a diverse array of activities, such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild. Their program encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits, along with Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower.
Furthermore, Juniors have the opportunity to enjoy Late Nights, which offer extended camp access, a special dinner, additional swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior campers at Oak Crest near Piscataway engage in a comprehensive program that includes all camp activities, a selection of thrilling day trips such as Dorney Park, and an extensive array of advanced Choice options. Additionally, they partake in Senior Late Nights, which extend their camp experience, include special dinners, extra swim time, entertaining games, exclusive events, and conclude with a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
During the Choice period, campers in Piscataway have the opportunity to pick an activity to engage in for that particular week. Each week, campers can opt for a different activity from a regularly updated list. Beyond the range of athletic and creative options, Senior campers also have the chance to take part in our annual Drama Production or join our special Dance routine, known as Showcrest. The involvement of Senior campers in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently adds a highlight to the overall show.

The program’s overarching goal is to prepare LITs for future achievements in college and their careers, as well as to equip them with the skills necessary to potentially excel as outstanding members of camp staff.
