As children progress, they can take part in specialized programs such as day trips and overnight excursions, promoting adventure and independence while developing lifelong skills. 3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
At Oak Crest, our Munchkin Division offers two program options, a 5 full-day and a 3 full-day program, tailored for children aged 3 to 5. Our commitment to quality care is reflected in our low camper-to-staff ratio, with groups consisting of 10 to 12 campers and 3 to 4 staff members, ensuring personalized attention and safety.
A key focus of our Munchkin Program is swimming proficiency. We prioritize building water confidence and skills in this age group. Moreover, our program goes beyond swimming by enhancing gross and fine motor skills through a variety of athletic and creative activities. These activities are led by specially trained Munchkin Specialists who create an age-appropriate and enriching experience for your child.
Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)
In the Explorers program, similar to the Munchkin Division, children participate in athletic and creative activities, work on improving their swimming abilities, and cultivate their social and emotional intelligence. First graders are introduced to exciting activities such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. When campers enter the second grade, they have the opportunity to choose their preferred activities on a weekly basis, allowing for a more personalized camp experience.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
In the Junior program at Oak Crest near 07066, campers participate in diverse activities like Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild. Their program encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits, along with instructional swim sessions and access to the Climbing Tower. Additionally, Juniors have the opportunity to enjoy Late Nights, which involve extended camp access, a special dinner, additional swim time, games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
Senior campers at Oak Crest, located near 07066, partake in all camp activities, embark on thrilling day trips to places such as Dorney Park, and have access to a wide range of advanced Choice options. They also engage in Senior Late Nights, which include extended camp hours, special dinners, additional swim opportunities, games, distinctive events, and a twilight campfire experience complete with S’mores.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
Choice periods provide campers with the opportunity to choose a weekly activity of their preference. Each week, our campers can opt for a different activity from a continually updated list of options, which includes various athletic and creative pursuits. Seniors also have the option to participate in our annual Drama Production or join our special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. Seniors consistently play a pivotal role in both the Drama and Dance productions, contributing to the highlight of the show.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, camp counselors guide groups through team-building challenges and competitions, emphasizing the development of teamwork, support, and effective communication. This structured approach cultivates respect among campers and encourages the formation of lasting friendships. Oak Crest is firmly committed to a zero-tolerance policy against bullying and is dedicated to creating a nurturing atmosphere where children and young adolescents can enhance their emotional and social skills.
LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The Leadership-in-Training (LIT) Experience offers practical leadership skill development in a dynamic environment, with a primary goal of improving the camp experience for younger attendees. Open to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, the program centers on honing problem-solving abilities, setting positive examples, and promoting teamwork. It places a strong emphasis on responsibility, aiming to equip LITs with the skills needed for future success in both higher education and careers, while also preparing them for potential roles as exceptional camp staff members.
