Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 07067
At Oak Crest in 07067, NJ, our junior campers enjoy an array of exciting activities, such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule is filled with diverse athletic and creative pursuits, including Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. An exclusive benefit for our junior campers is the Late Night program, which offers the opportunity to extend their stay for a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring delicious S’mores.
Junior Athletics
Our Junior program, located in 07067, New Jersey, offers a diverse range of athletic activities conducted on full-size fields. Our weekly schedules encompass Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. In addition, juniors have the opportunity to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, led by dedicated Athletic Specialists. These sessions include skill instruction followed by games designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively participate, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful success opportunities for our campers.
At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups engage in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities and opponents rotate weekly, providing a dynamic and competitive experience for our campers.
Creative Arts
Your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities led by experienced art teachers in air-conditioned classrooms located in 07067, NJ. Our campers actively participate in diverse activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more on a weekly basis.
Additionally, our Junior Girl groups showcase their talents in a dance routine during our annual event, Showcrest, which is a grand Dance and Drama Production. This significant production occurs during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting, providing a memorable experience for both campers and their families.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is an integral part of the Oak Crest experience, with our state-of-the-art aquatic facility located in 07067, NJ, setting the standard for excellence. Our 3rd Grade Juniors have access to a recently constructed, exclusive 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed specifically for 3-8 year-olds, while our 4th grade Juniors enjoy swimming in our Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and progress them into deeper water as their skills improve.
Every morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our instructors, drawing not only from American Red Cross standards but also from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools, further enhancing their aquatic skills and enjoyment.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
Mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and at Oak Crest’s location in 07067, NJ, children have the perfect environment to achieve this skill through our newly established Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a cutting-edge pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling imparts crucial lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, empowering novice riders to gain the confidence they need. As campers progress, they have the opportunity to participate in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, complete with appropriately sized bikes and helmets provided by Oak Crest
Ropes Courses
In 07067, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the unique opportunity to explore all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become acquainted with belaying and navigate various elements resembling those found in our High Ropes Course. Our Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the thrilling Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and challenging mid-air obstacles.
Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo comprehensive safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. In addition to this, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through the courses, perform daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety measures are in place.
Choice
In 07067, NJ, during the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers have the flexibility to select an activity for the week. Every week, campers can explore a new activity from a constantly refreshed list. In addition to a wide range of athletic and creative options, Juniors also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or engage in a dedicated Dance routine. This annual event is known as Showcrest.
Social Development
