A distinctive feature for junior campers is the Late Night program, offering a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, unique events, and a twilight campfire with S’mores.
Junior Athletics

Each week, our schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Creative Arts

Campers actively participate in weekly sessions of Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Moreover, all Junior Girl groups showcase their talents in a captivating dance routine during our annual event, Showcrest. This grand Dance and Drama Production occurs during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting, making it a truly special and memorable experience for our campers.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is an integral part of our camp experience. Located in 07977, NJ, our state-of-the-art aquatic facility is unmatched in quality. Our 3rd Grade Juniors benefit from a recently constructed 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed exclusively for children aged 3 to 8. Meanwhile, our 4th Grade Juniors have the privilege of swimming in our Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities provide shallow water areas, ensuring that all swimmers start in standing-depth water and progress to deeper levels as their skills develop.
Each morning, our Juniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, tailored to individual abilities rather than age, ensuring a challenging experience for swimmers of all levels. We annually train and certify our instructors, adhering to American Red Cross standards and drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools, enhancing their water confidence and skills.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
At Oak Crest in 07977, NJ, mastering the art of bicycle riding is a significant childhood milestone, and we provide the ideal environment for children to achieve this skill with our brand new Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can take part in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, where Oak Crest provides appropriately sized bikes and helmets for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Ropes Courses
In 07977, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the unique opportunity to participate in all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to familiarize themselves with belaying techniques and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and challenging mid-air obstacles.
Prior to the start of each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of our campers.
Choice
In 07977, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to select their preferred activity for the week. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a continually updated list. In addition to a wide range of athletic and creative options, Junior campers also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine. This special event is known as Showcrest, and it allows them to showcase their talents and creativity.
Social Development
