Junior Athletics
Our Junior program in 08544, New Jersey, provides a wide array of athletic activities held on full-size fields. Weekly schedules feature Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Juniors can also take part in our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who offer skill instruction followed by engaging games to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Creative Arts
Your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide variety of artistic activities led by experienced art teachers, all conducted in comfortable air-conditioned classrooms in 08544, NJ. Our campers engage in weekly activities including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, all Junior Girl groups take center stage with a captivating dance routine during our annual event, Showcrest. This grand Dance and Drama Production is a significant highlight, occurring during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting for a truly remarkable experience.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in 08544, NJ, is second to none. The 3rd Grade Juniors benefit from our recently constructed, 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed exclusively for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, the 4th-grade Juniors enjoy swimming in our Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water areas, allowing us to start all swimmers at a comfortable standing depth and gradually progress them into deeper water as their skills improve.
Each morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing assistance. Our swim lessons are skill-based, rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers at all proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our instructors, adhering to American Red Cross standards and drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
At Oak Crest in 08544, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and we provide an ideal setting for children to achieve this skill at our brand new Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond fostering independence, cycling imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can take part in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, complete with appropriately sized bikes and helmets provided by Oak Crest.
Ropes Courses
In 08544, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to participate in all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become familiar with belaying and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and mid-air challenges.
To prioritize safety, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction before each season. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who lead groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety measures are maintained.
Choice
In 08544, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to select an activity for the week. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from an ever-evolving list. In addition to a wide array of athletic and creative options, our Junior campers can also choose to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine. This yearly event is known as Showcrest.
Social Development
