Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 08812

At Oak Crest in 08812, NJ, Junior campers enjoy a diverse array of activities, including Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule includes a mix of athletic and creative pursuits, alongside Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. A distinct advantage for Junior campers is the Late Night program, which extends their stay for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.

Junior Athletics

Our Junior program, located in 08812, New Jersey, offers a comprehensive array of athletic activities on full-sized fields. Each week, campers can partake in Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. In addition, our juniors have the opportunity to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, guided by experienced Athletic Specialists. These sessions include skill instruction followed by games designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful success opportunities for campers.

At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, featuring activities such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate on a weekly basis, offering our campers a dynamic and competitive experience.

Creative Arts

Your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities led by experienced art instructors in air-conditioned classrooms located in 08812, NJ. Our campers engage in a diverse set of activities, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and much more on a weekly basis.

Additionally, our Junior Girl groups showcase their talent in a dance routine during our annual event, Showcrest. This spectacular Dance and Drama Production occurs during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting to enhance the experience.

Learn to Swim

At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience. Located in 08812, NJ, our state-of-the-art aquatic facility is second to none. The 3rd Grade Juniors benefit from our recently constructed 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex, specifically designed for children aged 3-8. Meanwhile, the 4th grade Juniors enjoy the Gigantic Pool, boasting eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water areas, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and gradually progress them to deeper water as their skills develop.

Each morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing additional support. Our swim lessons are skill-based, catering to swimmers of all levels, rather than being age-based. We annually train and certify our instructors, adhering to American Red Cross standards and drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.

Learn to Ride a Bicycle

At Oak Crest, located in 08812, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is recognized as a significant childhood milestone. Our new Bicycle Village offers the perfect environment for children to achieve this skill. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling imparts essential lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors provide individualized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can join our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, with Oak Crest providing appropriately sized bikes and helmets.

Ropes Courses

In 08812, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to fully engage in all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to familiarize themselves with belaying techniques and navigate various elements resembling those found in our High Ropes Course. Our Climbing Tower features two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers even more challenging rock walls and mid-air obstacles.

Prior to each season, we subject our ropes courses to thorough safety inspections and certification, carried out by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety standards are met.

Choice

Located in 08812, NJ, during the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers enjoy the flexibility to select their preferred activity for the week. Each week, campers have the opportunity to choose from a continuously updated list of activities. In addition to a wide range of athletic and creative options, Juniors can also elect to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine. This yearly event is known as Showcrest.
