Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 08816

At Oak Crest in 08816, NJ, junior campers enjoy a wide array of activities, such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule is filled with diverse athletic and creative pursuits, including Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. A distinct advantage for junior campers is the Late Night program, offering them the opportunity to extend their stay for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.

Junior Athletics

Our Junior program in 08816, New Jersey, offers a comprehensive range of athletic activities on full-size fields. Weekly schedules encompass sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Additionally, juniors have the chance to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, which are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists. These sessions include skill instruction followed by games to reinforce newly acquired skills, with Oak Crest counselors actively participating to enhance the camper experience.

At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups engage in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. This rotation of activities and opponents on a weekly basis ensures a dynamic and competitive experience for our campers.

Learn to Swim

At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental cornerstone of our camp experience. Our cutting-edge aquatic facility in 08816, NJ, sets the standard for excellence. Our 3rd Grade Juniors enjoy our recently constructed, state-of-the-art 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex, designed exclusively for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, our 4th grade Juniors have the privilege of swimming in our Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities feature shallow water, allowing us to start all swimmers in a standing depth and progress them to deeper water as their skills advance.

Every morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors with the support of group counselors. These lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, adhering to not only American Red Cross standards but also drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.

Learn to Ride a Bicycle

Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, allowing novice riders to build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they have the opportunity to participate in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, for which Oak Crest provides appropriately sized bikes and helmets.

Ropes Courses

The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become acquainted with belaying techniques and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the thrilling Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and mid-air challenges for an exhilarating experience.

Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety.
