Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 08821
At Oak Crest in 08821, NJ, our Junior campers engage in a dynamic array of activities, such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their well-rounded schedule includes both athletic and creative pursuits, along with Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower. A distinctive advantage for our Junior campers is the Late Night program, which allows them to extend their day with a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, unique events, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Junior Athletics
Our Junior program, situated in 08821, New Jersey, offers an extensive array of athletic activities conducted on full-size fields. Our weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. In addition to these offerings, our juniors have the opportunity to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, both of which are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists. These sessions involve skill instruction followed by games that reinforce the newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively participate, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success among campers.
At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups engage in competitive matches of Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate on a weekly basis, ensuring a dynamic and competitive experience for our campers.
Creative Arts
Your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities, led by experienced art teachers, in air-conditioned classrooms located in 08821, NJ. Our campers actively participate in diverse creative endeavors such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more, on a weekly basis.
Additionally, all Junior Girl groups take center stage in our annual event, Showcrest—a spectacular Dance and Drama Production. This significant showcase unfolds during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting to enhance the experience.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in 08821, NJ, is second to none. For 3rd Grade Juniors, we offer a recently constructed, state-of-the-art 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex exclusively tailored for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, our 4th Grade Juniors have the privilege of swimming in our Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities boast shallow water areas, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and gradually progress them into deeper water as their skills improve.
Every morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing additional support. Our swim lessons are skill-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers at all proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our instructors, adhering not only to American Red Cross standards but also drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors enjoy the opportunity for free swim in the pools.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
Mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and at Oak Crest in 08821, NJ, children have the perfect environment to achieve this feat—the newly built Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond fostering independence, cycling imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors provide personalized attention, allowing novice riders to gain the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can take part in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, with Oak Crest providing appropriately sized bikes and helmets.
Ropes Courses
In 08821, NJ, our Juniors have the unique opportunity to experience all of Oak Crest’s Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to familiarize themselves with belaying techniques and navigate various elements that mirror those found in our High Ropes Course. Our Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the thrilling Giant Swing. The High Ropes course extends the adventure with additional rock walls and mid-air challenges.
Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure the ongoing safety of our campers.
Choice
In 08821, NJ, our campers enjoy the flexibility of choice during the designated Choice period. Each week, campers have the opportunity to select a new activity from an ever-evolving list of options. In addition to a wide array of athletic and creative choices, Juniors can also opt to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine for our yearly event known as Showcrest.
Social Development
