Junior Athletics

Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is an integral part of the Oak Crest experience, centered around our state-of-the-art aquatic facility located in 08840, NJ. Our commitment to providing top-notch facilities is evident in our offerings for 3rd and 4th grade Juniors.
For 3rd Grade Juniors, we have a dedicated, recently constructed 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex, designed exclusively for children aged 3-8. On the other hand, 4th Grade Juniors enjoy the expansive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water areas, allowing us to begin swimmers in standing depth and progressively move them into deeper waters as their skills advance.
Every morning, our Juniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing additional support. Our approach is skill-based, not age-based, ensuring that swimmers of all levels find the appropriate challenge. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, drawing from both American Red Cross standards and over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Juniors have the opportunity to enjoy free swim in our pools.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
At Oak Crest in 08840, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and we provide the perfect environment for children to achieve this goal at our brand new Bicycle Village. This exceptional facility comprises a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling offers valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors provide personalized attention, helping novice riders gain the confidence they need. Ropes Courses
In 08840, NJ, our Junior campers have the unique opportunity to explore all of the Oak Crest Ropes Courses. This includes the Confidence Course, situated at a height of 5 feet above the ground, where campers can become familiar with belaying and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and an exhilarating Giant Swing experience. The High Ropes course presents additional rock walls and mid-air challenges.
Before each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification conducted by the same company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who lead groups through these courses, perform daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety measures are maintained.
Choice
In 08840, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to select their preferred activity for the week. Each week, campers can choose from a regularly refreshed list of options, which includes a variety of athletic and creative pursuits. In addition to these choices, Junior campers also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine for our yearly event known as Showcrest.
