Junior Athletics

Weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. In addition, juniors can partake in our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, led by specialized instructors who provide skill instruction followed by engaging games to reinforce learning. Creative Arts
Your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities led by experienced instructors in air-conditioned classrooms in 08869, NJ. Each week, campers can immerse themselves in activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
In addition, all Junior Girl groups showcase their talents in a dance routine as part of our annual event, Showcrest, a grand Dance and Drama Production. This significant production takes place during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting for an unforgettable experience.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, and our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in 08869, NJ, sets the standard. For 3rd Grade Juniors, we have a dedicated 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed exclusively for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, 4th-grade Juniors enjoy swimming in our Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities provide shallow water, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and gradually progress them into deeper waters as their skills improve.
Each morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing assistance. Our swim lessons focus on skill levels rather than age, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all abilities. We annually train and certify our instructors, adhering to American Red Cross standards and drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
At Oak Crest in 08869, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and we offer the perfect environment for achieving this goal – the newly built Bicycle Village. This facility features a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Learning to ride a bike not only fosters independence but also imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors provide personalized attention to help novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can take part in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, with Oak Crest providing appropriately sized bikes and helmets for their safety and enjoyment.
Ropes Courses
In 08869, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the exciting opportunity to participate in all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become familiar with belaying techniques and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. Our Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course features additional rock walls and mid-air challenges.
To ensure safety, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspections and certification before each season, conducted by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who lead groups through the courses, perform daily inspections to maintain ongoing safety standards.
Choice
In 08869, NJ, during the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers have the freedom to select an activity for the week. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a constantly updated list. In addition to a wide range of athletic and creative options, Junior campers also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or be part of a dedicated Dance routine. This annual event is known as Showcrest.
Social Development
