Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 08884

At Oak Crest in 08884, NJ, junior campers engage in a diverse array of activities such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule includes a mix of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. A distinctive advantage for our junior campers is the Late Night program, providing the opportunity to extend their day for an exclusive dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a special event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.

Junior Athletics

Our Junior program, located in 08884, New Jersey, offers a comprehensive selection of athletic activities conducted on full-size fields. Weekly schedules feature a wide range of sports including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Additionally, juniors have the opportunity to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by skill-reinforcing games. Oak Crest counselors actively participate, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for camper success.

At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups participate in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities and opponents change on a weekly basis, ensuring a dynamic and competitive experience for our campers.

Learn to Swim

At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a foundational element of our camp experience. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in 08884, NJ, is second to none. For our 3rd Grade Juniors, we have a recently constructed, state-of-the-art 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex exclusively tailored for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, our 4th grade Juniors enjoy swimming in our Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water areas, allowing us to start all swimmers at standing depth and gradually progress them into deeper water as their skills develop.

Every morning, our Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. These swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, drawing from American Red Cross standards and over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.

Learn to Ride a Bicycle

At Oak Crest in 08884, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is considered a significant childhood achievement. Our camp provides the perfect environment for children to attain this skill through our recently established Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling offers valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors provide individualized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers advance, they can engage in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, complete with appropriately sized bikes and helmets provided by Oak Crest.

Ropes Courses

The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to familiarize themselves with belaying and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. Our Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and challenging mid-air obstacles.

Before the start of each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through these courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety.

Choice

Each week, campers have the opportunity to explore a new activity from a regularly updated list. This much-anticipated yearly event is known as Showcrest.
