Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near 08904

At Oak Crest in 08904, NJ, Junior campers partake in a diverse array of activities such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule is rich with athletic and creative pursuits, including Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. An exclusive benefit for Junior campers is the Late Night program, offering an extended stay for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.

Junior Athletics

In the Junior program located in 08904, New Jersey, we offer an extensive selection of athletic activities on full-size fields. Our weekly schedules include Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Additionally, juniors have the opportunity to explore our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program, all led by dedicated Athletic Specialists. These sessions feature skill instruction followed by engaging games that help campers apply their newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate, working alongside specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.

At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups participate in competitive activities such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities and opponents change weekly, providing an ever-evolving and dynamic experience for our campers.

Creative Arts

Your child will immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities led by experienced art teachers in air-conditioned classrooms in 08904, NJ. Our campers have the opportunity to participate in activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more, on a weekly basis.

In addition, all Junior Girl groups take center stage in our annual event, Showcrest, a spectacular Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable production occurs during the sixth week of camp at a local venue in the evening, featuring professional sound and lighting to showcase the talents and creativity of our young performers.

Learn to Swim

At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in 08904, NJ, is second to none. Our 3rd Grade Juniors have access to a recently constructed, 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed exclusively for 3-8 year-olds. Meanwhile, our 4th grade Juniors enjoy swimming in our Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and progress them into deeper water as their skills develop.

Every morning, Juniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing additional support. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, adhering to American Red Cross standards and drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools.

Learn to Ride a Bicycle

At Oak Crest in 08904, NJ, we understand that mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone. That’s why we’ve created the perfect environment for children to achieve this goal – the brand new Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond fostering independence, cycling imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can even take part in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, where Oak Crest provides appropriately sized bikes and helmets.

Ropes Courses

In 08904, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the exciting opportunity to participate in all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become familiar with belaying and navigate various elements similar to those found in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard zip line, and the thrilling Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and mid-air challenges for an even more exhilarating experience.

Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo comprehensive safety inspections and certification, conducted by the same company responsible for their construction. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through the courses, perform daily inspections to ensure ongoing safety for all participants.

Choice

In 08904, NJ, during the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers have the opportunity to select an activity for the week. Each week, campers can choose from a continuously updated list of options. In addition to a diverse range of athletic and creative activities, Juniors also have the chance to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine. This much-anticipated event is known as Showcrest.

Social Development
