Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders) Summer Camp near Neshanic Station
At Oak Crest in Neshanic Station, NJ, junior campers enjoy a diverse array of activities such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, Camper vs. Wild (pioneering), and more. Their schedule includes a mix of athletic and creative pursuits, along with Instructional Swim and the Climbing Tower. A distinctive offering for our junior campers is the Late Night program, providing opportunities for a special dinner, extended swim time, extra games, unique events, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Junior Athletics
Our Junior program in Neshanic Station, New Jersey, boasts a wide range of athletic activities on full-size fields. Weekly schedules feature Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, and more. Additionally, our juniors can delve into our Skate Park and Mountain Biking Program. These sessions, led by Athletic Specialists, include skill instruction followed by skill-reinforcing games. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage, partnering with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for camper success.
At the Junior level, we introduce League Play, where groups participate in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. Weekly rotations of activities and opponents ensure a dynamic and competitive experience for our young campers.
Creative Arts
Your child will have the opportunity to explore a rich variety of artistic activities led by experienced art teachers in climate-controlled classrooms in Neshanic Station, NJ. Our campers engage in a weekly rotation of activities including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Junior Girl groups culminate their artistic journey by showcasing a dance routine in our annual event, Showcrest. This grand Dance and Drama Production occurs during the sixth week of camp, hosted at a local venue in the evening, complete with professional sound and lighting for an unforgettable experience.
Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest, our Learn to Swim Program is an integral part of the Oak Crest experience, centered around our state-of-the-art aquatic facility in Neshanic Station, NJ. Our commitment to providing an exceptional swimming program is evident in our facilities, which cater to different age groups.
Our 3rd Grade Juniors enjoy the recently constructed, state-of-the-art 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed exclusively for 3-8 year-olds, while our 4th grade Juniors swim in our Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water areas, allowing us to start all swimmers in standing depth and progress them into deeper water as their skills develop.
Each morning, our Juniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with group counselors providing additional support. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenge for swimmers of all levels. We prioritize the annual training and certification of our instructors, drawing not only from American Red Cross standards but also from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity for free swim in the pools, fostering a well-rounded aquatic experience.
Learn to Ride a Bicycle
Mastering the art of bicycling is a significant childhood milestone, and at Oak Crest in Neshanic Station, NJ, children have the perfect environment to achieve this feat – the all-new Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4 mile training course, a cutting-edge pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond promoting independence, cycling imparts essential lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer individualized attention, allowing novice riders to gain the confidence they need. As campers progress, they can participate in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, where Oak Crest provides appropriately sized bikes and helmets for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Ropes Courses
In Neshanic Station, NJ, our Junior campers at Oak Crest have the exciting opportunity to explore all of our Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to become familiar with belaying and tackle various elements resembling those in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard zip line, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and challenging mid-air obstacles.
Before each season, we subject our ropes courses to rigorous safety inspections and certification, conducted by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through the courses, perform daily inspections to ensure the ongoing safety of our campers.
Choice
In Neshanic Station, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to select an activity for the week. Every week, they can explore a new activity from an ever-evolving list of options. In addition to a diverse range of athletic and creative choices, Junior campers also have the opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join a specific Dance routine. This exciting annual event is known as Showcrest.
Social Development
