Our state-of-the-art aquatic facilities cater to the unique needs of our 3rd and 4th Grade Juniors. The 3rd Grade Juniors benefit from our recently constructed, exclusive 12,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex designed specifically for children aged 3-8, while the 4th Grade Juniors enjoy the Gigantic Pool, boasting eight 25-meter lanes. Both facilities offer shallow water, ensuring a safe and gradual progression from standing depth to deeper waters as our young swimmers develop their skills.
Each morning, Juniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-based, ensuring a challenging and tailored experience for swimmers of all levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, adhering not only to American Red Cross standards but also drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoon, Juniors have the opportunity to enjoy free swim in the pools.
At Oak Crest in Warren, NJ, mastering the art of riding a bicycle is a significant childhood milestone, and we provide the perfect environment for children to achieve this skill through our new Bicycle Village. This facility boasts a 1/4-mile training course, a state-of-the-art pump track, and a mountain bike preparation trail. Beyond fostering independence, cycling imparts valuable lessons in balance, posture control, coordination, and the development of motor skills. Our experienced instructors offer personalized attention, helping novice riders build the confidence they need. As campers progress, they have the opportunity to participate in our dynamic Mountain Biking Program, with Oak Crest providing appropriately sized bikes and helmets for their journey.
In Warren, NJ, our Junior campers have the exciting opportunity to participate in all of Oak Crest’s Ropes Courses. The Confidence Course, positioned 5 feet above the ground, allows campers to acquaint themselves with belaying techniques and navigate various elements similar to those encountered in our High Ropes Course. The Climbing Tower features two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard zip line, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls and challenging mid-air obstacles.
Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous safety inspections and certification by the same company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through the courses, conduct daily inspections to ensure the ongoing safety of all participants.
