As a 9th or 10th grader, redefine success and excellence through our Leadership-in-Training (LIT) program. Develop problem-solving, role modeling, and teamwork skills, embracing meaningful responsibility to excel as a staff member. The LIT experience includes an overnight trip and active involvement in camp with various age groups, enhancing your skill set. Staff Training at Oak Crest prepares LITs to work effectively with campers, providing daily feedback and weekly meetings to address challenges and formulate effective strategies. Leadership Trip: GLOBAL ROUTES: Appalachian Leadership Training Expedition at Worthington State Forest
Embark on a hiking excursion in Worthington State Forest, centered on practical skills like backpack preparation, rock climbing, hiking, campsite setup, and canoeing on the Delaware River. This program instills teamwork, leadership, and responsibility in teenagers through leadership training from Oak Crest and Global Routes staff, along with extensive hiking and camping activities. The main goal is to challenge young participants, pushing them beyond their comfort zones to discover their potential. With eight years of successful implementation, the program has consistently garnered positive reviews and demonstrated commendable outcomes.
