Senior campers in 07066, New Jersey, can fully immerse themselves in Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, which even include thrilling day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of activities and select from more advanced options. Notable summer highlights for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ extending camp hours to include a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a distinctive event, and an evening campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 07066, NJ location, seniors participate in a comprehensive range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Each week, their schedules are filled with sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our dedicated Athletic Specialists lead each session, providing skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working alongside specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls integrate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate weekly, adding variety and excitement to their experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 07066, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
In addition, all Senior Girl groups participate in the annual Showcrest, a notable Dance and Drama Production. This significant event, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is equipped with professional sound and lighting to provide an impactful and memorable experience for all.
Learn to Swim
Located in 07066, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program serves as a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility that includes the impressive Gigantic Pool with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with guidance from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels, rather than being age-dependent. We annually train and certify our instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim, further enhancing their aquatic skills and enjoyment.
Ropes Courses
Located in 07066, NJ, our senior campers engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinctive rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Located in 07066, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to choose an activity for the week from a rotating selection. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a diverse list that encompasses both athletic and creative options. Additionally, seniors have the privilege to engage in our annual Drama Production or take part in a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 07066, NJ, our camp counselors oversee and facilitate team-building challenges and competitions for our camper groups throughout the summer. These shared experiences provide valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors in group dynamics fosters respect within the group and facilitates the formation of enduring friendships.
