They have the flexibility to participate in a diverse selection of activities, including more advanced options. Standout events for seniors during the summer include Late Nights, which extend camp access to offer a special dinner, additional swimming hours, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring the delectable treat of S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 07067, NJ location, seniors engage in a diverse array of athletic activities on our expansive full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are guided by dedicated Athletic Specialists, with each session combining skill instruction and gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success. Moreover, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. This includes rotating activities and opponents each week, providing an enriching and dynamic sports experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 07067, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass diverse disciplines such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take center stage in our annual Showcrest event, a significant Dance and Drama Production. Learn to Swim
In 07067, NJ, the Oak Crest Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the support of group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at varying proficiency levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 07067, NJ, seniors actively engage in our Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinctive rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the thrilling Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements this adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the construction company responsible for their creation. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
Choice
Within the 07067, NJ location, during the Choice period, campers enjoy the flexibility of selecting their activities for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a diverse selection that encompasses both athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, Senior campers have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or become part of the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the entire event.
Social Development
