In 07690, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest have the privilege of accessing a wide array of activities, including exciting day trips such as the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. They have the flexibility to engage in a diverse selection of activities, with the option to choose more advanced options if desired. Some of the standout summer events tailored for seniors at Oak Crest include Late Nights, offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Senior campers in 07690, NJ at our facility enjoy a comprehensive range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature a diverse lineup of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by experienced Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction and follow it up with gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Our dedicated Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, Senior Boys and Girls at our camp incorporate League Play into their schedules, engaging in friendly competitions involving Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These matchups rotate each week, offering campers a chance to experience a variety of activities and opponents.
Creative Arts
Located in 07690, NJ, our program offers a rich array of artistic activities for your child, conducted in air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass a diverse range of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups participate in the annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production that takes place during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. This event is enhanced with professional sound and lighting, creating a memorable and impactful experience for both participants and spectators.
Learn to Swim
Located in 07690, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of our camp experience, taking full advantage of our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to our impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, prioritizing proficiency over age, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various levels of ability. Our instructors are annually trained and certified, drawing from over 25 years of hands-on experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim, providing them with further opportunities to enjoy the water.
Ropes Courses
Within 07690, NJ, our senior campers engage in weekly sessions at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, providing them with thrilling experiences. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, an exhilarating 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exciting Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course extends the adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, and our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Located in 07690, NJ, our camp offers a unique Choice period where campers have the freedom to select their activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can explore new interests and experiences by choosing from a dynamic list of activities that encompass both athletic and creative pursuits.
In addition to these choices, Senior campers have the exciting opportunity to be part of our annual Drama Production or participate in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp’s entertainment lineup.
Social Development
