Senior campers in 07931, NJ, at Oak Crest Camp have the opportunity to fully engage in our diverse activity offerings, including thrilling day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. Our senior campers also have the freedom to select from a wide array of activities, including more advanced options. The summer’s highlights for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to include a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a one-of-a-kind event, and a twilight campfire complete with delectable S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 07931, NJ location, seniors at Oak Crest Camp enjoy a wide variety of athletic activities on our expansive full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay sessions designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls have the opportunity to participate in League Play as part of their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in sports such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 07931, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions include engaging activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
In addition, all Senior Girl groups have the chance to showcase their talents in a dance routine as part of our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This impressive event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
Located in 07931, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is an integral component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors at our camp have the privilege of utilizing the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, Senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors and supported by group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim, fostering further confidence and enjoyment in the water.
Ropes Courses
In 07931, NJ, our Senior campers actively engage in our Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower offers a thrilling array of activities, including two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, our High Ropes course boasts additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount to us, and to ensure the well-being of our campers, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks.
Choice
Within 07931, NJ, during the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can explore new options from a dynamic selection that encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits.
For Senior campers, there are additional exciting opportunities. They can choose to participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
