The standout events of the summer for senior campers encompass ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming opportunities, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors at our 07934, NJ location engage in a diverse array of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Each week, they follow schedules that encompass a wide range of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by skilled Athletic Specialists who provide comprehensive skill instruction, followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and activities on a weekly basis, adding an extra layer of variety and excitement to the camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 07934, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass diverse offerings such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups take center stage by showcasing a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This noteworthy event, typically hosted during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, incorporates professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Within the 07934, NJ region, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program serves as a foundational component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors benefit from access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes.
Every morning, Seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the additional support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, enabling us to cater to swimmers of various proficiency levels. We maintain a commitment to annual training and certification of our instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 07934, NJ, our Senior campers enjoy weekly participation in both the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, providing exhilarating outdoor experiences. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the excitement of the Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety remains paramount in our operations. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide campers through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Within the 07934, NJ area, our campers enjoy the Choice period, where they can select a weekly activity from a rotating list of options. Each week brings a fresh array of choices, encompassing a diverse range of athletic and creative pursuits. In addition to these selections, Senior campers have the privilege of participating in our annual Drama Production or joining the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
