From thrilling day trips to popular destinations like Dorney Park to a variety of advanced options, our program offers something for everyone. Noteworthy summer events for seniors include ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours for a special dinner, extra swim sessions, additional games, unique events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 07938, NJ, seniors at our camp enjoy a comprehensive range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our experienced Athletic Specialists lead each session, combining skill instruction with gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate weekly, adding an element of variety and excitement to the experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 07938, NJ, our program offers a wide array of artistic activities for your child, all conducted in air-conditioned classrooms and led by experienced art teachers. Each week, campers can immerse themselves in activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups participate in an annual event known as Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to provide campers with an impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In 07938, NJ, the Oak Crest Summer Camp boasts a foundational Learn to Swim Program, a key component of the camp’s experience, which takes advantage of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors, with the support of group counselors. Our approach to swim instruction is skill-based, rather than age-dependent, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing on over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 07938, NJ, our Senior campers have the opportunity to engage in Climbing Tower and High Ropes activities on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Ensuring safety is paramount to us, as our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Choice
In 07938, NJ, our campers have the opportunity to personalize their experience during the Choice period. Each week, they can select an activity from a rotating list that spans various athletic and creative options. This dynamic list allows campers to explore new interests and activities regularly.
For Seniors, there are additional special opportunities, including participation in our annual Drama Production or taking part in a unique Dance routine, both collectively known as Showcrest. These Senior performances in both Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our program.
Social Development
