Notable summer highlights for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 07978, New Jersey location, senior campers engage in a wide array of athletic pursuits on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules are packed with sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists, who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, senior boys and girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and activities each week, adding an element of variety and excitement to their summer experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 07978, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a rich variety of artistic activities in our air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions encompass a wide range of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups participate in the annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This grand event, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Within 07978, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program serves as a cornerstone of our camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson guided by certified swim instructors, with the assistance of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-oriented, tailored to individual proficiency levels rather than age, allowing us to challenge swimmers effectively. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon more than 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 07978, New Jersey, our senior campers have the opportunity to engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course features additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
To ensure the utmost safety, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Within 07978, New Jersey, our campers enjoy a Choice period where they can select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the flexibility to choose a new activity from a dynamic list that spans a wide spectrum of athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, senior campers have the exclusive opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our program.
Social Development
