In 08504, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest have the privilege of accessing a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. These senior campers have the option to engage in a diverse range of activities, including more advanced choices. Notable highlights of the summer for seniors include ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming opportunities, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08504, NJ location, senior campers at Oak Crest participate in a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. The weekly schedule includes sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working in collaboration with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to regular athletic activities, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in sports like Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08504, NJ, our program offers a wide range of artistic activities for your child, conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, and guided by experienced art teachers. Weekly sessions encompass diverse activities including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computer skills, and more.
In addition, all Senior Girl groups have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a dance routine during our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This prestigious event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to provide a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
In 08504, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have the privilege of accessing the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, senior campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development over age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing on over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08504, NJ, our Senior campers enjoy weekly sessions at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, providing them with thrilling challenges and opportunities for personal growth. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. In addition, our certified ropes instructors, who guide campers through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
In 08504, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can choose a new activity from a dynamic list that offers a diverse array of athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, Senior campers have the unique opportunity to engage in our annual Drama Production or be a part of the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
In 08504, NJ, our campers, under the guidance of our dedicated camp counselors, actively participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences serve as valuable opportunities for campers to learn the importance of collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The group dynamics, combined with the active engagement of counselors, not only promote respect within the group but also foster the development of lasting friendships.
