Senior campers in 08542, NJ, have the privilege of full access to Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including exciting day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can participate in a diverse range of activities and select from more advanced options. Notable summer highlights for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Senior participants in our 08542, NJ program enjoy a wide variety of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are guided by Athletic Specialists, who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working alongside specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls integrate League Play into their schedules, engaging in friendly competitions in sports such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08542, NJ, our program offers a rich array of artistic experiences for your child in air-conditioned classrooms, led by seasoned art instructors. Weekly sessions encompass a wide range of activities, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a dance routine during our annual Showcrest event, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable event, traditionally held in the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting for an impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In 08542, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, taking advantage of our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors and supported by group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers of varying proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08542, NJ, our senior campers have the opportunity to engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course features additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, and our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the construction company before each season. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In 08542, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to select their preferred activity for the week from a rotating list. Every week, campers can explore new opportunities by choosing from a dynamic list that encompasses a wide spectrum of athletic and creative options.
In addition to these choices, senior campers are offered the chance to actively participate in our annual Drama Production or take part in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as the standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08542, NJ, our camp counselors lead groups through a series of team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collaborative experiences impart important lessons in teamwork, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors enhances group dynamics, promoting respect and the development of enduring friendships among campers.
