Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08543
Seniors at the 08543, NJ camp location have the opportunity to fully engage in Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including exciting day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can participate in a comprehensive selection of activities, including more advanced options. Notable summer events for seniors feature ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swim sessions, extra games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08543, NJ location, senior campers have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. The weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules. This includes friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08543, NJ, our program offers a wide array of artistic activities for your child, all conducted in air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Weekly sessions encompass a variety of options, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, all Senior Girl groups participate in the annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. Traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this event features professional sound and lighting to provide an impactful and memorable experience for all.
Learn to Swim
In 08543, NJ, the Learn to Swim Program at Oak Crest serves as a fundamental component of the camp experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson guided by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. Our instructors undergo annual training and certification, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers have the opportunity to enjoy Free Swim sessions at the pool.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08543, NJ, senior campers regularly engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course as part of their weekly activities. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is a paramount concern, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction before each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Choice
Located in 08543, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the freedom to select an activity for the week from a rotating list of options. Every week, campers can choose a new activity from a dynamic list that encompasses a variety of athletic and creative pursuits.
Furthermore, senior campers have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join in the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Within 08543, NJ, under the vigilant guidance of our camp counselors, campers participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collaborative experiences offer valuable lessons in teamwork, mutual support, and effective communication. The dynamics within the groups, combined with the active engagement of our counselors, promote a culture of respect and facilitate the formation of enduring friendships.
