They can participate in a wide array of activities, including more advanced options. Notable highlights for senior campers during the summer include ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to enjoy a special dinner, extra swimming time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors at our 08553, New Jersey location actively participate in a diverse range of athletic activities conducted on full-sized fields. Weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction and follow it up with gameplay aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers during each session, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success. In addition, Senior Boys and Girls include League Play in their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These competitions feature rotating activities and opponents on a weekly basis.
Creative Arts
Located in 08553, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of artistic activities, conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms and guided by experienced art instructors. The weekly sessions encompass a diverse range of activities including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups take center stage by showcasing dance routines in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, boasts professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
Located in 08553, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors at our camp have the privilege of access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, Senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors, and supported by group counselors. Our swim lessons are tailored to individual skill levels rather than age, ensuring that swimmers are appropriately challenged. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08553, New Jersey, our Senior campers enjoy weekly participation in both the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers an array of thrilling activities, including two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course features additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable experience.”
Choice
In 08553, New Jersey, during the Choice period, campers have the freedom to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can choose a new activity from a diverse and evolving list that encompasses various athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, Seniors are afforded the opportunity to be part of our annual Drama Production or take part in the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
