In 08816, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a wide array of activities, including captivating day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. Our program offers a diverse selection of activities, allowing seniors to explore more advanced options. Among the summer’s highlights for seniors are the Late Nights, which extend camp hours to include a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a one-of-a-kind event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors in 08816, NJ, participate in a diverse array of athletic activities on our expansive full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature a wide range of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by specialized Athletic Instructors, with each session combining skill instruction and gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to regular athletic sessions, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules. This includes friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among campers.
Creative Arts
Located in 08816, NJ, our program offers a wide range of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art instructors. Weekly sessions include Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups take center stage in our annual Showcrest, a prominent Dance and Drama Production held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. This grand event features professional sound and lighting, creating a truly impactful and memorable experience for all.
Learn to Swim
In 08816, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of our camp experience, conducted in a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have the privilege of accessing the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels, irrespective of their age. Annually, we train and certify our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08816, NJ, our Senior campers engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinctive rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements this experience with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, with our ropes courses undergoing thorough inspection and certification before each season, carried out by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In 08816, NJ, our campers enjoy the Choice period, where they can select a weekly activity from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the flexibility to choose a new activity from a diverse list that encompasses various athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, Seniors have the special privilege of participating in our annual Drama Production or joining the unique Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the entire show.
Social Development
Located in 08816, NJ, our camp offers team-building challenges and competitions overseen by our dedicated camp counselors throughout the summer. These shared experiences impart essential lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of our counselors, along with the dynamics within the groups, not only fosters respect but also encourages the development of enduring friendships.
