Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08817
Senior campers in 08817, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a diverse range of activities and select from more advanced options. The summer’s standout events for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access for a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 08817, New Jersey, our senior campers enjoy a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Each week, they participate in sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions, led by Athletic Specialists, include skill instruction and gameplay aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. Each week brings rotating activities and opponents, adding to the excitement and variety of their summer experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 08817, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions encompass Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups take center stage as they showcase a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This impressive event, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In 08817, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, not age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08817, New Jersey, seniors at our camp engage in weekly activities at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety by subjecting our ropes courses to thorough inspection and certification before each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In 08817, New Jersey, during the Choice period, campers have the freedom to choose an activity for the week from a rotating list. Every week, campers can explore a new activity from a diverse list that includes various athletic and creative options. Additionally, seniors are presented with the unique opportunity to partake in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as the highlights of the show.
Social Development
