Senior campers in 08818, NJ, have the privilege of enjoying Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, including more advanced options. Notable summer highlights for seniors include ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming, extra games, unique events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08818, NJ location, seniors have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules are packed with sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists, who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, Senior Boys and Girls also participate in League Play as part of their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with activities and opponents rotating each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08818, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Each week, they can explore disciplines such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, Senior Girl groups are given the chance to shine by showcasing a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is enhanced with professional sound and lighting to create an impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Located in 08818, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility that includes the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, seniors take part in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to provide challenges tailored to swimmers at different proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing on over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08818, NJ, our senior campers regularly engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course as part of their weekly activities. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course includes additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
To ensure the utmost safety, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks.
Choice
Located in 08818, NJ, our campers have the unique opportunity during the Choice period to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a diverse list that includes various athletic and creative options. Additionally, seniors have the exclusive chance to take part in our annual Drama Production or be part of the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08818, NJ, our campers, under the guidance of dedicated camp counselors, participate in a series of team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These group activities offer valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The group dynamics, coupled with active counselor involvement, promote respect within the group and foster the development of enduring friendships.
