They can also select from a variety of more advanced options. Notable summer events for senior campers include ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to include a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire with delicious S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 08824, NJ, our senior campers enjoy a diverse range of athletic activities conducted on our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our Athletic Specialists lead each session, offering skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce these newfound abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls integrate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in sports like Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. Each week brings rotating activities and opponents, adding excitement and variety to the experience.
Creative Arts

Weekly sessions encompass Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take center stage by showcasing a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a highly significant Dance and Drama Production. Learn to Swim
Within the 08824, NJ area, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program plays a vital role in the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility that includes the impressive Gigantic Pool featuring eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are designed to be skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim, enhancing their overall aquatic experience.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08824, NJ, our senior campers eagerly participate in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower offers an array of exciting features, including two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the thrilling Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course boasts additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
To prioritize safety, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season, carried out by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Choice
Within the 08824, NJ area, our campers enjoy the Choice period, where they have the freedom to select a weekly activity from a diverse and ever-changing list. Each week, campers can explore new options, ranging from athletic to creative pursuits.
Additionally, our Senior campers have the unique opportunity to take part in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show, providing an enriching and memorable experience for all.
Social Development
