Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08840
Senior campers residing in 08840, New Jersey, can fully engage in Oak Crest’s diverse activity offerings, including thrilling day trips such as the highly-anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, including more advanced options. Highlighted summer events for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ providing extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors residing in 08840, New Jersey, partake in a diverse array of athletic activities on our expansive full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules feature a wide range of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by skilled Athletic Specialists who provide expert instruction and follow it up with gameplay aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working in collaboration with specialists to foster meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition, Senior Boys and Girls integrate League Play into their schedules, engaging in friendly competitions encompassing Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and a variety of sports each week.
Creative Arts
Within the 08840 area of New Jersey, your child will immerse themselves in a variety of artistic activities, all conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms and led by seasoned art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass a wide spectrum of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and much more.
Furthermore, for all Senior Girl groups, a noteworthy highlight is their participation in our annual Showcrest event. This significant Dance and Drama Production, traditionally scheduled during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, includes professional-grade sound and lighting to ensure a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Within the 08840 area of New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program stands as a foundational component of our camp experience, making use of a cutting-edge aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to our impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, our Senior campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to provide challenges tailored to swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, leveraging over 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Within the 08840 area of New Jersey, our Senior campers engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, offering a thrilling and challenging experience. The Climbing Tower boasts two unique rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course comprises additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount to us, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the construction company before each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Within the 08840 area of New Jersey, our campers enjoy the flexibility of the Choice period, where they can pick an activity for the week from a regularly updated selection. Each week, campers have the chance to explore a new activity from a dynamic list, offering a diverse array of athletic and creative options.
In addition to these choices, our Senior campers have the unique opportunity to engage in our annual Drama Production or participate in a special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp program.
Social Development
