Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08844
In 08844, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest have the privilege of accessing a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a diverse range of activities, including more advanced options. The summer’s standout events for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to include a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 08844, NJ, our senior campers enjoy a wide variety of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay, aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working alongside specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These competitions feature rotating activities and opponents each week, enhancing the overall camp experience.
Creative Arts
In 08844, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take part in a special tradition known as Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. This event includes professional sound and lighting, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for all.
Learn to Swim
In 08844, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience, taking place in our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers have the privilege of accessing our impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, tailored to individual proficiency levels rather than age, allowing us to challenge swimmers appropriately. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers can enjoy Free Swim sessions in the pools.
Ropes Courses
In 08844, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest engage in weekly activities on our Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers an array of thrilling elements, including two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements the adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount, and our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In 08844, NJ, the Choice period at Oak Crest allows campers to tailor their experience by selecting an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the flexibility to choose a new activity from a diverse list that spans both athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, senior campers have the unique opportunity to either take part in our annual Drama Production or participate in a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the overall camp experience.
Social Development
In 08844, NJ, Oak Crest campers, under the vigilant supervision of our dedicated camp counselors, actively participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences serve as a platform for imparting invaluable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication.
