Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08846
Seniors residing in 08846, NJ, have the privilege of experiencing Oak Crest’s wide array of activities during summer camp, with exciting day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a multitude of activities and even explore more advanced options. Noteworthy summer events for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ granting extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim sessions, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors in 08846, NJ, have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive array of athletic activities at our facility. Our weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay, focusing on reinforcing newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Moreover, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in sports such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and activities each week, adding an element of variety and excitement to the camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 08846, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions include activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, all Senior Girl groups have the chance to showcase their talents in a dance routine as part of our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This highly anticipated event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is equipped with professional sound and lighting, creating a truly impactful and memorable experience for all involved.
Learn to Swim
In 08846, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is an integral component of our camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers have access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to tailor instruction to the individual proficiency levels of our swimmers. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim sessions, providing further opportunities to practice and enjoy their newfound skills.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08846, NJ, our Senior campers eagerly participate in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower offers an exciting array of features, including two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements this experience with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, and we take several measures to ensure it. Our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. In addition to this, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to provide a secure and enjoyable adventure for our campers.
Choice
In 08846, NJ, our campers in the Choice period have the exciting opportunity to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can choose a new activity from a dynamic list that spans a wide range of athletic and creative options.
In addition to these choices, our Senior campers also have the chance to actively participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, both collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show, showcasing their remarkable talents and dedication.
Social Development
