Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08850
Senior campers residing in 08850, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully engage in Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, which include thrilling day trips such as the highly favored visit to Dorney Park. These campers can participate in a diverse selection of activities and select from more advanced options. The standout events of the summer for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access for a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 08850, NJ, our senior campers enjoy a rich array of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction and follow up with gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in sports such as Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
In 08850, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities held in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. These weekly sessions encompass activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups actively prepare for and showcase a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This substantial event, traditionally scheduled during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, incorporates professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In 08850, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the added support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, prioritizing proficiency over age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various levels of expertise. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In 08850, NJ, senior campers eagerly engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements this experience with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Our commitment to safety is unwavering. Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our dedicated team of certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through all courses, diligently perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and memorable experience.
Choice
In 08850, NJ, during the Choice period, campers are afforded the freedom to choose their activities for the week from a regularly updated selection. Each week, campers have the opportunity to explore new interests from a dynamic list that encompasses a diverse array of athletic and creative options.
Furthermore, our senior campers are presented with unique opportunities to participate in our annual Drama Production and contribute to the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
