Seniors in the 08853 area of NJ at Oak Crest Summer Camp have the privilege of accessing a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. With a plethora of options to choose from, senior campers can engage in a diverse range of activities, some of which are more advanced. Highlight events for seniors during the summer include Late Nights, which extend camp hours for an exclusive dinner experience, additional swim sessions, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring delicious S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08853, NJ location, senior campers enjoy a diverse array of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Each week, they engage in sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more, all under the guidance of Athletic Specialists. These specialists provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, which includes friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate each week, adding an element of variety and excitement to the camp experience.
Creative Arts
In 08853, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Each week, campers can participate in sessions such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups have the chance to shine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This impressive event, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting for a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
Located in 08853, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development over age, ensuring that swimmers are appropriately challenged regardless of their proficiency level. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers have the opportunity to enjoy Free Swim in the pools.
Ropes Courses
Within the 08853, NJ area, seniors engage in weekly adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers even more rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a cutting-edge High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our utmost priority. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
Choice
Located in 08853, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to choose an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a dynamic list that spans a variety of athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, Seniors have the exclusive opportunity to partake in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as the standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08853, NJ, our camp provides a supervised environment where groups of campers participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences serve as valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors in these group dynamics fosters respect and facilitates the formation of lasting friendships.
