Senior campers residing in 08854, NJ, can fully engage in Oak Crest’s array of activities, including exciting day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities and even select more advanced options. Notable summer highlights for our senior campers encompass ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp hours, a special dinner, extra swim sessions, additional games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors in the 08854, NJ area participate in a wide variety of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules include sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by experienced Athletic Specialists, who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working alongside specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to regular sports activities, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with activities and opponents rotating each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08854, NJ, our program offers a wide range of creative pursuits for your child in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, led by skilled art instructors. Weekly sessions encompass activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a dance routine as part of our annual Showcrest event. This significant Dance and Drama Production is a highlight of the summer, traditionally taking place during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. Showcrest features professional sound and lighting to ensure a truly impactful experience for all.
Learn to Swim
In 08854, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a foundational component of our camp experience, boasting a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, Senior campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, ensuring that swimmers of all proficiency levels are appropriately challenged. We annually train and certify our instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers enjoy Free Swim sessions in the pools.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08854, NJ, our Senior campers engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course offers further adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority. Our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide campers through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Located in 08854, NJ, our camp offers a unique Choice period where campers can select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Every week, campers have the chance to explore new options from a dynamic selection that spans athletic and creative pursuits. In addition to these choices, Senior campers can also partake in our annual Drama Production or be a part of the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08854, NJ, our camp offers team-building challenges and competitions under the supervision of our dedicated camp counselors. These shared experiences provide valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors within the group dynamics encourages respect among campers and fosters the development of enduring friendships.
