Senior campers residing in 08873, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly-anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a diverse range of activities, with the option to select more advanced experiences. Notable summer highlights for senior campers encompass ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swimming hours, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring the delightful treat of S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Senior participants in our program located in 08873, New Jersey, are actively involved in a diverse range of athletic endeavors, taking place on our full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature a variety of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are guided by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay aimed at reinforcing newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers and collaborate with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and activities each week, enhancing the overall camp experience
Creative Arts
Located in 08873, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, all under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Weekly sessions encompass various creative disciplines such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take center stage in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production event. Traditionally hosted during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this grand showcase is equipped with professional sound and lighting, delivering an impactful and memorable experience for all.
Learn to Swim
In 08873, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, leveraging a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors gain access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, Seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the additional support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-oriented, not bound by age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at different proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon more than 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08873, New Jersey, Seniors at our program regularly engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course activities. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Our High Ropes course offers even more excitement, with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount, and we ensure the well-being of our campers by subjecting our ropes courses to thorough inspection and certification before each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to maintain a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Located in 08873, New Jersey, during the Choice period, campers have the exciting opportunity to choose their activities for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a diverse and ever-changing selection, which spans both athletic and creative pursuits.
In addition to these choices, Seniors also have the chance to be a part of our annual Drama Production or participate in a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our program.
Social Development
Located in 08873, New Jersey, our camp counselors oversee and guide groups as they participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences provide invaluable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors and the dynamics within the groups promote respect and the formation of lasting friendships.
