Seniors at Oak Crest in 08880, NJ, have the opportunity to fully engage in a wide array of activities, including exciting day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can also select from an extensive range of activities, including more advanced options. The summer’s highlight events for senior campers feature ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our location in 08880, NJ, senior campers engage in a diverse array of athletic activities, utilizing our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively join campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Moreover, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. This includes rotating activities and opponents each week, enhancing the overall camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 08880, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide variety of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions encompass a rich selection of options, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups participate in an annual event called Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. Typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this event incorporates professional sound and lighting, creating a truly impactful and memorable experience for both participants and spectators alike.
Learn to Swim
Located in 08880, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of our camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors at Oak Crest have access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, our senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to cater to swimmers of varying proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Situated in 08880, NJ, seniors at our camp regularly engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course as part of their weekly activities. The Climbing Tower offers two distinctive rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the thrilling Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course includes additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is of paramount importance to us. Our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure the well-being of our campers.
Choice
Located in 08880, NJ, our camp offers a Choice period during which campers can select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the chance to choose a new activity from a diverse and dynamic list that encompasses both athletic and creative options.
In addition to these choices, senior campers have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or take part in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08880, NJ, our camp places a strong emphasis on team-building challenges and competitions, overseen by our dedicated camp counselors, throughout the summer. These group activities offer valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication.
