In 08889, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest have exclusive access to a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips like the highly-anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can participate in a variety of activities, with the option to select more advanced options. Notable summer highlights for seniors include ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to offer a special dinner, extra swimming time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08889, NJ location, senior campers at Oak Crest engage in a diverse range of athletic pursuits, taking advantage of our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules are packed with sports including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are expertly led by Athletic Specialists, with each session featuring skill instruction followed by gameplay designed to reinforce newly acquired skills. Our dedicated Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08889, NJ, our program offers a rich array of artistic activities for your child to explore in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Weekly sessions encompass a wide spectrum of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups have the opportunity to shine in a special way through their participation in Showcrest, our annual Dance and Drama Production. This significant event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is enhanced with professional sound and lighting to provide a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
Situated in 08889, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility, highlighted by the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, our senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the support of group counselors. Our approach to swim lessons is skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to tailor challenges to swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08889, NJ, our senior campers enjoy weekly participation in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, offering thrilling challenges and adventure. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course features additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety, ensuring that our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season, overseen by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Located in 08889, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the exciting opportunity to select their activity for the week from a rotating list of options. Each week presents a fresh array of choices, spanning both athletic and creative pursuits. Furthermore, our senior campers can participate in our annual Drama Production or take part in a special Dance routine, together known as Showcrest. The performances by our Seniors in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in 08889, NJ, our campers, under the guidance of dedicated camp counselors, actively participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences serve as valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The group dynamics, coupled with the active involvement of counselors, promote respect within the group and facilitate the formation of enduring friendships.
