Seniors attending Oak Crest’s camp in 08902, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully engage in a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can select from a variety of activities, including more advanced options. Among the highlights of the summer program for senior campers are the Late Nights, which offer extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08902, NJ camp, senior campers are immersed in a diverse range of athletic activities conducted on full-sized fields. Each week, the schedule includes sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working in collaboration with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success. Moreover, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, participating in friendly competitions across various sports like Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The lineup of activities and opponents rotates each week, adding to the excitement and variety of the experience.
Creative Arts
Located in 08902, NJ, our program offers a wide range of artistic activities for your child in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art instructors. Weekly sessions encompass various disciplines, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more. Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take center stage by presenting a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a prominent Dance and Drama Production. Typically held during the sixth week of camp at a local venue, this substantial event boasts professional sound and lighting, ensuring a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Located in 08902, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers have the privilege of accessing the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes. Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the additional support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-oriented rather than age-dependent, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08902, NJ, our senior campers engage in weekly activities on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, providing thrilling challenges and opportunities for personal growth. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course includes additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course. Safety is paramount in our program. Our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
Choice
In 08902, NJ, our campers enjoy the Choice period, where they have the flexibility to choose a different activity each week from a rotating list. This dynamic list includes a diverse range of athletic and creative options, allowing campers to explore new interests and experiences regularly. Moreover, senior campers have the exclusive opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
