Senior campers in 08903, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully engage in Oak Crest’s diverse activity offerings, which even include thrilling day trips such as the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. They can select from a wide spectrum of activities, including more advanced options. Noteworthy events for senior campers during the summer include ‘Late Nights,’ which extend camp hours to include a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In 08903, New Jersey, senior campers at our facility participate in a wide array of athletic activities conducted on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are overseen by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Furthermore, our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, senior boys and girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in 08903, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a rich variety of artistic activities, all conducted in air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass a wide range of options, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild challenges, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, as a special highlight, all Senior Girl groups showcase their dance routines in our annual Showcrest event, a prominent Dance and Drama Production. Traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, Showcrest features professional sound and lighting for a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Situated in 08903, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program serves as a foundational component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have the privilege of utilizing the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25-meter lanes.
Each morning, senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, overseen by certified swim instructors and supported by group counselors. Our approach to swim lessons is skill-based rather than age-dependent, enabling us to challenge swimmers at varying proficiency levels. It is noteworthy that our instructors undergo annual training and certification, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim sessions.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08903, New Jersey, our senior campers actively participate in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course includes additional challenging rock walls, mid-air obstacles, and a cutting-edge High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before the start of each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
Within 08903, New Jersey, during the Choice period, campers are granted the freedom to choose a weekly activity from a rotating selection. Every week, campers can opt for a new activity from a diverse list that spans both athletic and creative pursuits. In addition to these choices, senior campers have the unique chance to get involved in our annual Drama Production or participate in a special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the program.
Social Development
