Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near 08904
Senior campers in 08904, NJ, at Oak Crest have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can select from a variety of engaging activities, including more advanced options. The standout summer events for seniors encompass Late Nights, offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swimming, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with delicious S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our 08904, NJ location, senior campers at Oak Crest are actively involved in a diverse array of athletic activities conducted on full-sized fields. The weekly schedules encompass a wide range of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists, who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. What sets us apart is our counselors’ active participation alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, our Senior Boys and Girls integrate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. Each week, the activities and opponents rotate, providing a dynamic and engaging experience for all.
Creative Arts
Located in 08904, NJ, our program ensures your child’s engagement in a wide array of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Each week, our sessions encompass a diverse range of disciplines, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, our Senior Girl groups participate in a highlight of our program, the annual Showcrest – a significant Dance and Drama Production. This grand event, traditionally scheduled during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is enhanced with professional sound and lighting, creating a truly impactful and memorable experience for all involved.
Learn to Swim
In 08904, NJ, the Learn to Swim Program at Oak Crest plays a pivotal role in shaping the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are designed to be skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. Our commitment to excellence is evident in our annual training and certification of our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
Located in 08904, NJ, our Senior campers have the opportunity to engage in thrilling outdoor activities on a weekly basis, including the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
To ensure the safety of our campers, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season, overseen by the company responsible for their construction. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to maintain the highest standards of safety.
Choice
Within 08904, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to select their weekly activity from a rotating list of options. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a diverse list that encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits.
In addition to these choices, Senior campers have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or be a part of the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our program.
Social Development
Located in 08904, NJ, our camp counselors oversee and guide groups in a series of team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences serve as valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication.
